Embarking on a Year-long Journey

Being Broke Ain't *That* Bad

Monday, December 18, 2006

I don’t have money for presents, so instead of giving gifts, i’m *making* gifts.

But they’re not the crafty sort with markers, paper, glue and the like. And it’s just not very me. This year we’re taking photographs! I figure i bought a camera (which is part of the reason i don’t have money for presents) and I have friends/family who like to be in photographs. It seems like a natural solution. So it’s not ME making presents for YOU, it’s US making good memories together as OUR present.

Of course, there is the small problem of not being that great at using the camera.  red face  I’m quite embarassed that I still don’t know how to use it well. It’s going to be a long journey. I’m experimenting with light and for some reason, i can’t seem to get my camera (or the photographer?) to do well in low-light environments. All my pics turn out blurry. Booooo. In any case, at least *some* came out ok.

So my first group of guinea pigs was the bachelorettes of GT. It’s been so long since we’ve taken pics together because we haven’t been in the same place for a while. We had so much fun taking these photos that even if they didn’t turn out, i think it still would have been ok. Thanks to Chris, who was our photographer, lighting expert, backdrop hanger, and general handy-guy, we have pics of all four of us at the same time instead of in groups of 3 or 2. Thanks Chris!

Here is a sample of some of the pics we took:

It’s a good thing Kimi happened to have 4 decorative fans just lying around the house...

We took a pic just like this when we first moved in to the house on Preston Street. Either we’re very unoriginal, or we like to harken back to our past lives together. Click HERE to see the old pic.
