A Flashy Entrance

The weekend summary begins with this morning’s eye-popping appearance at work.

I know you’ve read about my other falls in the past, but i’ve got another one! W00t! Another to add to the archive. There were far fewer witnesses, so my pride still remains remotely intact, but what the heck, i thought i’d share it with the world anyway!

It was raining for a lot of today, so it was already extra slippery to begin with. Once again, i was wearing high-heeled shoes, and then there was the tile floor that’s just plain slippery by nature. Even in flats, i slip out. Go figure. I can fall in anything. So i was stepping carefully on the linoleum, small baby steps that would guarantee that I would not wind up on my butt.

I made it all the way to the hallway outside my “office” (in quotes because i’m actually a wandering nomad within the hospital, waiting to pounce on any open desk in sight). Just then, my managers round the corner. I waved my hand accompanied by a cheery “good morning!” At that instant, i must have taken a wrong step because the next thing i knew, i was on the floor with my legs all twisted up, my ankle turned in and my knee planted into the ground. Ouch!

My managers rushed over saying, “Oh my goodness! Are you ok? Do you need to go the hospital?” That was funny because we were already IN the hospital. The sad part is that this is such a normal occurance that i hand’t even thought of it as anything more than another embarassing event. After laughing it off and making sure that my ankle wasn’t really jacked up, one of my managers said, “Wow! You’re a clutz!” and chuckled a little. I’m surprised she hadn’t noticed it until now! lol

Luckily, that wasn’t any relfection on how the weekend went! I’ll go backwards in time since I started with this morning, when i had “a case of the Mondays.”

Yesterday, i got to hang out with my cousin Johnny and his daughter Marissa. We went to see the Skin+Bones exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art - a show about how architecture and fashion design influence each other. Afterwards we roamed around the Disney Music Hall and then went shopping on Melrose. Fun!

Saturday night, I was at Kimi’s housewarming party. It had a great turnout! Lots of peeps showed up and had fun and had food!

Suz, me, Pierre, Kimi and Rita in the new kitchen

And before that, my dad took us on a tour of his garden. He is the master of his domain! He shared his lemon grass with Suz, who obviously became a bit too attached to it.

"Mmmmmmmm....soooooo goooooood...."

"I caught a lemon THIS BIG!"

Seriously, the fruits from my dad’s garden are SO delicious! I’m trying to make you all jealous! Too bad i didn’t inherit his green thumb. Instead, i have the black thumb of doom.

And that’s the weekend update! Hope you all enjoyed yours!

  3. speaking of spills.  i took one today at macy’s in the escalator.  i was trying to rush up stairs but then i guess one foot could quite keep up and didnt leave the ground high enough and hit the side of the step.  so i fell down with a big thud on the metal.  so both the first and 2nd floor witnessed me and all my glory! woo hoo!

your black thumb of doom sounds very frightening.  and gross if you think about it, haha j/k.  but ya.  i wish i had a green thumb as well.

oh and, i now think im allergic to certain species of handbag.  hehe.

lastly, i love your new header banner (:  have a good week!

  4. i think you’d be great at aikido.  if i remember correctly, the first thing they teach is how to fall without hurting yourself.  you’ve mastered that part already.

  5. Well, at least i got the falling part down.  tongue laugh

As for your fall, Willis, that’s AWESOME. You should try to see if there is security vids of that. That’s a YouTube vid if i’ve ever heard of one.

It’s good to not feel alone in this!
