In the aftermath of my valentine's day talk

Well, it’s over with now. Phew!
Thanks for praying guys. I really appreciate it. As always when I speak, that’s when i feel close to God. I think it’s because i freak out so much beforehand that i know i have to rely on God for anything that comes out of my mouth. I think it went well. I did manage to offend The Twins who were at first perturbed that I sat on the pew instead of standing behind the podium, but they walked out when I said “Imagine God as your lover, the one who continually pursues you and loves you unconditionally.” Yeah, I think that was too much for them. After vespers, they accosted me on the way out talking about how i can’t dress the way i did in church (jeans and a turtle neck sweater). I actually walked away from them in the middle of their scolding, saying, “It’s a testimonial! It’s casual!” and cheerfully going my way. sigh.
Overall though, i think it got people thinking about Jesus as someone who really wants more than anything else to be with YOU. And as long as they think about that, I’m happy and I hope Jesus is too. :D
Wow, Kat, that’s awesome. God is awesome. I love how He brings you closer to Him while speaking & testifying. You’ve always been a good speaker as long as I’ve known you—in other words, when you get up front, you are very transparent and broken, relying on Him. Some people want to sound good, but you worry more about really letting Him speak. And it helped me learn how to rely on Him way back when, oh, five years ago. (!)
And yes, Jesus is definitely happy. He definitely wants to be with us! (How many folks would die to prove it?) He’s happy with you, too. (^_^)
Posted by Ramone on 02/12 at 01:52 AMYou go Kat! Thank you Jesus for being with Kathy, giving her the courage to speak, and the wisdom to walk away.
Wish Laura and I could have been there to hear you!

Good stuff, Katterpop. Do you have the written form to perhaps send me?
Posted by on 02/13 at 11:44 PMAt last after all this time I, your bro, finally feel compelled to write on youf website! Good going stirring things up in NY. You know that us “Western” liberals are out to destroy all that is pure and sacred. ;) No seriously, you should be happy that you’ve expressed yourself in that way. In my view, if people are so distracted from a personal testimony by the simple things of standing in front of a podium and dressing in jeans, then they weren’t there to listen. I understand that there are places and times to be proper, but one should always be open to the words and wisdom of others. No mater what they look like. Take a look at Jesus, I don’t think he was particularly a “conventional” type person. You go sister! (I can say that here, right?)
