Bryant Park Coincidence=Freaky

Sometimes random stuff happens, and you can’t help but wonder if it was *really* random.
We were at “Broadway Under the Stars"--a live show in Bryant Park where a lot of the Broadway stars come out and sing various show tunes (albeit obscure ones). Two of the big TV stars were Christina Applegate and the guy from Alias (her father?). The park is basically a huge, tree-lined lawn and at 5 pm, 3.5 hours before the show begins, people rush the grass to stake their claims on their patch of land. Jen J. and I got there really early and set up camp; she had brought so much good food! Woohoo! Props to Jen J.! We gorged and sat patiently waiting in the sweltering heat among thousands of damp, perspiring bodies, all anxious to be part of the first big summer concert events.
When you have that much time to wait, you just naturally end up people watching. The two girls in front of us were...interesting. Not only did they chain-smoke like chimneys, they also starting writing on each other, you know, like you did in jr. high? These girls were at least in college if not older. Interesting. Jannine and I showed our disgust of their smoking by coughing and making faces and just plain fanning it back at them with our programs. They mocked us a bit to themselves, but that was pretty much it.
Then Nathan noticed what was written on the leg of one of the girls: “Kat smells of BUNG!” with a picture of a crudely drawn butt next to it. Shocked, I wondered if they overheard us talking and were that upset about us blowing their second-hand smoke back at them that they decided to emblazen their annoyance with me on their skin. Then it dawned on me that the girl in front of me was also Kat. And apparently, she smelled of bung. For a moment there, I thought some Karmic force somewhere was aiming this statement at me.
I just thought I’d share that random occurrence with you guys. Oh, and the concert was great. :D
And it sucks to be *that* Kat if she really does smell of bung.

Posted by on 06/23 at 06:57 AMHave you ever seen Beavis and Butthead (the old MTV cartoon)? Beavis on cappuccino results in the Great Cornholio who continually mutters, “TP, TP for my bung hole.” From this reference, i assume that a bung is a butt.
