Yasuyo just gave birth to a boy! I have a new nephew!
At 8:30 am, Joshua found himself in a whole new world (cue Disney’s Aladdin music). He is 7 lb. 7 oz. and 19” long. Or tall. Or whatever. I’m still not used to all this baby stuff. But he’s here and he’s cute! Thank goodness he’s cute! I mean, who wants to be the aunt that can’t muster up enough enthusiasm to lie about an ugly baby? LOL I know some of you are gasping in horror as you read that. But I’m not going to be that liar saying, “Oooh, you’re sooooo cuuuute!” when he really looks like an old man. But like I said, Joshua needs no such faking. He actually IS cute!
He’s even got wavy hair! I wonder if it’ll stick. Both Yasuyo and Kenny are pretty tired, as they didn’t sleep much of the night. But aside from that, all seems well! All systems are go! Yasuyo’s mom is here to help and my parents are close at hand too, so support is all around. They’re heading home tomorrow. They don’t give you much time in the hospital do they?
The funny part was watching the hospital staff using the Electronic Medical Record system that I teach. I kept looking over their shoulders as they typed. “Oh, they’re doing *that* in the Doc Flowsheets...Interesting.” Or “I can’t believe they remembered that part from class!” I got to see the EMR in action!
AND I got to hold a baby. For those of you who don’t know me, you must know that I have not a single maternal bone in my body, and have thus managed to avoid holding/babysitting/being in the general vicinity of babies. But this one is different! I’m breaking myself in and this one has no choice but to be the guinea pig for my experimentation. I mean, Love,...yes, guinea pig for my love. And corruption! So I held him.
Ah, how innocently the corruption begins!

Btw, was Kenny racing the baby through the hospital corridor? Good to know you’re raising him as a proper Khoo from day 1.

However, given the long explanation that followed your first statement, you may have to cross your fingers that Joshua doesn’t peak when he’s...five. HAHAHAH!
