...and that time is for a REDESIGN!
This summer (and i do mean the WHOLE summer) i’m going to undertake a redesign of my site. Many of you have complained to me that you don’t understand where things are, which is very understandable since I built this site while I was still quite a noob at all of this blogging stuff.
Anyway, this is where i get to ask YOU, oh faithful readers (or scary lurkers...whichever): HOW CAN I MAKE THIS SITE MORE USER-FRIENDLY? And do you have any other brilliant ideas you’d like to share? Is there a way that you’d like to participate more other than comments?
If you don’t speak, i will simply make this site chaos. THEN you’ll be unhappy!
Just kidding. But really, i want to hear your thoughts.
Hehehe. I feel a bit responsible for some of the things people (and even I) complain about, seeing as how I helped you brainstorm this site.
One thing that would make my day is if you would post everything in the same place and only use your “sections” (rants, katnip, genius, etc) as categories, instead of separate weblogs. That way I don’t have to go clicking around trying to guess where you’ve posted your latest stuff.
Your site also takes 10 years to load. Not sure why, but thought I’d mention it.
If you’re redesigning your self while you’re at it, then you should post more often (you’re a good writer!) and definitely post more PICTURES!
Posted by laura on 05/27 at 06:22 AMhey, -i’m- gonna redesign my site this summer too… too bad we won’t be in the same place so we could work side by side at the heating table IM’ing each other =)
i agree w laura - use the categories just for categories
maybe the gallery sneak peek and the quote of the week should be higher on the page so you can see when it’s updated instead of having to scroll down?
not much more… your site’s already nifty cool =)
Posted by kimi =) on 05/27 at 07:56 AMi’m going to be putting up a portfolio site soon, but i will still have a blog for rants and random crap. i’m probably going to use mambo, because it’s a good looking content managemnt system. oh well. ttyl. time to hit the sack i have class tomorrow.

Posted by on 05/31 at 05:32 AMOkay, I have another suggestion. Be sure to keep the Rants section (my favorite), and have an ongoing link to Slate’s Bushisms page.

Posted by on 05/31 at 10:57 AMoooh, i thought of another one…
the sidebar on camacho.tv with all the most recent comments really helps me keep up with what everyone says. could you have something like that? i’ve heard you have some very interesting conversations in your comments and it’d be neat to have access to that as they get updated. thanks panks!
