It was mean of me to mention M.I.A. and not let you listen to her!
So i’ve provided an .mp3 of one of her songs so you can get an idea of what she sounds like. Although she does have disproportionately small legs, as Alan so deftly observed, she does write really interesting lyrics. You may not like her style, but you gotta admit that she’s pretty original. It’s so funny because she kind of reminds me of some of the 80s rap like Bunny and Tigra (and they like the boom!). She has a bunch of different influences, so it’s pretty hard to pin down exactly what genre she fits into. So I leave it to you, dear reader, to try to categorize her yourself.
