Sunday, December 11, 2005
For those of you in NYC who haven’t seen it yet, i highly recommend this film.
If you haven’t read the post about watching the Grace Lee Project, a film about Grace Lees and the Asian female stereotype, then please check it out.
Her film is screening again here at the Film Forum. It’s only showing here for 2 weeks. Here’s the info:
THE GRACE LEE PROJECT
at Film Forum (New York City)
Two weeks only! Dec 14-27
209 W. Houston St., NYC
Screens Daily at 1:15, 3:15, 6;00, 8:00, 10:00
Tickets, map, trailer, and more info at
http://www.filmforum.org/films/gracelee.html
She even has this awesome poster because “...our marketing budget is microscopic next to Hollywood releases like King Kong and Memoirs of a Geisha. Why not check out the Memoirs of a Grace Lee (or several of them) in this highly unscientific and entertaining exploration into Asian female identity. There are no gorillas or geishas in this film, but you will still have a good time.”
You gotta love a person with creativity & witty self-deprication
