That was what this tall black guy asked me in the subway last night while i was waiting for the B train (OF DOOOOM).
I kind of gave him this look that said, “...what?” He sort of chuckled to himself, knowing full well that he sounded crazy. Ah, that hint of recognition was all i needed to know that he wasn’t actually insane. Phew! At least no crude come ons or crazy attempts at groping.
He repeated himself again, still chuckling, “Have you seen THEM HORSE?” This time i responded verbally, “eh?” “Them horses!” he repeated and pointed to the multitude of LARGE rats swarming around the tracks below. “I have a cousin that lives in Philly and he warned me ‘fore i came up here that New York had RATS THE SIZE OF HORSES!” By now i was cracking up. :D “He said it and was fo REAL! He really thought they was as big as horses!”
He chortled a little more and then his train came. “It’s been nice talking,” he said and stepped into the car.
“Yeah, nice talking to you too,” I responded and waved goodbye.
