Instructional Design on Sushi
Thursday, March 02, 2006
Many of you have asked what it is that I do now. Here is an example.
My official title is “Instructional Designer/Educational Technology Specialist.” That being said, the stuff I am actually trained to do covers a wide spectrum from helping teachers integrate technology into the classroom to working on museum multimedia exhibits to making instructional videos. Like this one:
This video teaches foreigners the fine points of sushi, a Japanese cultural phenomenon. It methodically addresses all points of consuming this food. Of course, the stuff I will probably make in the future will not nearly be as interesting. Or strange for that matter. Oh, and by the way, this IS a parody, so please do not take everything at face value. Do NOT eat the salt out of the little dish outside the sushi shop!
And, as i like to end most of my posts, “Oh those wacky Japanese.”
hahaha, good stuff, the part when they say “o toh toh toh” is so true, hehe. anyway, have a good week. i think im gonna try making some matchbox car sushi myself, hehe. (:
Posted by willis on 03/06 at 04:13 AMKathy!! I’m going for sushi tonight to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. My stomach is roiling. Glad to know that the public health school admonition, “The kitchen towel is the nexus of all food contamination,” holds true in other cultures as well. blech.
