Irony of ironies

I went to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this past week!
I could go on about what i saw there, but really, you can pretty much see it for yourself at IGN or Gamespot or any of the gaming websites that are available to you. BUT what you won’t see is my little ironic take on the X-box 360, the NEXT-GEN console from Microsoft.
BTW, i learned there that unless you use the words “NEXT-GENERATION” about 3 times in every sentence, you’re not hip or cool enough to be a game company at E3. So make sure you get your NEXT-GEN consoles with their NEXT-GEN games developed by companies who are definitely NEXT-GEN.
I digress. At the press area for MICROSOFT’s (this is important to remember now) X-box 360, they were showing some footage of a game on their new console. As we watched, I happened to look down into the casing below the large plasma screen...to find not only the absence of the celebrated X-box 360 but two APPLE G5 Dual-processing machines nestled securely under the display, running the show!!
WOW! Even Microsoft thinks Apple is better!
Apparently, they use the G5s as development machines for the game while the X-box 360 is still in its yet-to-be-released embryonic form. I find this incredibly ironic. You can see a pic below of the media area and the G5s hidden below it.
Welcome back, you punk! No, not jealous at all… Does Slim have any single female co-workers? They don’t have to be single now, just before next year’s E3.
Posted by Daryl on 05/23 at 09:47 PMwhy does everyone think this is ironic? it’s not ironic at all. they won the bid for the new processor. that’s all. and OS will probbaly be based on a linux/unix kernel. cause it’s cheaper. why are those G5’s sitting there? cause it’s operating off a g5 processor. and that’s the only thing that runs it.
and no, it’s not a microsoft thinks apple is better.
i also had some thoughts on e3 this year. http://ywfn.net/weblog/
