Making the Mundane Into the Miraculous

Monday, July 03, 2006

This is a bad beginning for my new commitment to posting 3x/week.

So i was fully aware yesterday that I was supposed to post something. Something fun, witty, and exciting. Something that describes my new exciting life out in L.A. Alas, I came up short looking for any topic that wouldn’t bore readers to tears. I was reticent to post about just everyday “stuff” because, personally, i’ve read far too many blogs that are just useless drivel, an outlet for a person who has way too much time on his/her hands and wants to be an internet star. I refuse to fit into that category! (*shakes tiny fist towards the heavens*)

So here I am, searching for something to post about.

Here were my options:

1. “Easiest way to weight loss = haircut” - My dog went from FAT to SLIM by just shaving him down. He’s tiny now! But do you really want an entire post about that? And I don’t even have any before and after pictures to show the dramatic weight loss!

2. “It’s like the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland!” - My dad recently got a colonoscopy. They asked him to watch the monitor as they traversed his colon. All he could say before falling asleep on the table was, “Wow, looks like the Matterhorn!” With all its tunnels and twists and turns, I can see how there might be similarities with the only difference being the color pink versus the normal snowy white. But really, there’s only so much one can write about someone else’s medical procedures without embarrassing them.

3. Work stuff - yes, work is here. There’s a lot going on and there’s nothing going on all at once. I’ve been dealing with self-doubt with regard to being the youngest and most inexperienced member of the team, but I think this requires more time to think about. View this as a teaser.

So here you have this half-baked post, trying to make the mundane into something miraculous. But at least it’s a post! And it’s Monday before the 4th of July, and i’m sitting here in the office, trying to be busy. Or at least to look busy. -___-

Happy Monday!

  1. Remeber, a “post” doesn’t have to be any more elaborate than showing up to put a link to the place you had dinner last night, or a funny quote from someone you work with. Don’t think you have to give us article-length comedy every time!
