"My name is Kathy...and...I'm a recovering chaperone!"

It’s almost a week after the summit, but I am *still* tired!
There is a lot to write about. I did a lot of thinking--not just about how to fight global poverty with NetAid and the Global Citizen Corps, but also about human interactions. It’s never so clear how humans interact until you see high school, a place where everyone is forced to be in the same place and you simply can’t avoid people you really don’t want to interact with.
I also had to be the disciplinary force at the summit. Woo hoo. :( Oh well. It wasn’t that bad. It was nice knowing that, ultimately, i didn’t care what they thought of me. It made laying down the law just a little easier. Amazingly enough, they listened! I have nicknamed myself “The Hammer"--laying down the smack not just in discipline, but in meetings at work that are running to long.
I suppose this posting is going to be more of an apology than an explaination of what i was thinking this past week. I promise to post on those things, and sooner rather than later. Sorry for the long e-silence!
The Hammer. I like the nickname. I have been searching for a nickname for you, as Kat just isn’t cool enough.
It is unfortunate, then, that “The Hammer” was a self-bestowed nickname. You KNOW that you’re not allowed to choose your own nickname.
The search continues.

Posted by les on 08/05 at 05:04 PMcome on j9. just because you second a self-bestowed nickname doesn’t give it an air of legitimacy.
nicknames must be organic, and not contrived!
