My new favorite ad campaign

Nike Women has a great campaign about body image right now.
Here’s my favorite one.
Here’s what the text says:
MY BUTT IS BIG
AND ROUND LIKE THE LETTER C
AND TEN THOUSAND LUNGES
HAVE MADE IT ROUNDER
BUT NOT SMALLER
AND THAT’S JUST FINE.
IT’S A SPACE HEATER
FOR MY SIDE OF THE BED
IT’S MY AMBASSADOR
TO THOSE WHO WALK BEHIND ME
IT’S A BORDER COLLIE
THAT HERDS SKINNY WOMEN
AWAY FROM THE BEST DEALS
AT CLOTHING SALES.
MY BUTT IS BIG
AND THAT’S JUST FINE
AND THOSE WHO MIGHT SCORN IT
ARE INVITED TO KISS IT.
JUST DO IT.
You should see the video ads that accompany it. If you go to Nike women’s US site, click on the link in the top right link (circled in orange in the pic below) that says “What story does your body tell?” and it’ll take you to a flash ad.
It’s a nice change from what the rest of the world is selling.
NICE! i like it. ur right - it’s a welcome change from the “i have to be anorexic!” mentality everyone else has.
they might not have the so-called “perfect” bodies but these ladies are beautiful in their own right and they own it! that rocks…

gotta love the knees!
“i’m there for you, sister!”
Posted by kimi =) on 09/23 at 12:17 PMYeah...Dove (I think) is doing something similar, with all those real women in their undies - it’s called Campaign for Real Beauty. I really like it. These women are so BEAUTIFUL!
Posted by laura on 09/23 at 07:52 PMBut Kathy… your butt’s not big.
Posted by Greg on 09/24 at 09:37 PMI think to assess the “largeness” of any particular rear, one must think in terms of context, not simply content. So although my butt is not empirically large (i.e. weighs a lot, takes up massive amounts of real estate, etc.), it is contextually large due to the petiteness (otherwise known as “shrimpiness") of my other asian female counterparts.
Yeah, i’m the LARGE asian girl, remember?
