My unsound medical practices

On my own, i have discovered wonderful ways to deal with my own medical problems.
I take medicine into my own hands. I’m basically too cheap to go to a doctor. In any case, i recently formed a cyst under my eyelid. At first i thought it was something stuck in my eye, but after awhile, it was still there! I went crazy trying eradicate it from my eye. No such luck. Finally it dawned on me that it might be a cyst type thing. Ew.
I remember back in college, i had a cyst on the outside of my eyelid, and I was told by an opthomologist to simply put a hot pack on it so that it would dissolve the pustule. So i tried that again, but i guess there was enough skin (i.e. eyelid) between the pack and the cyst that it had no effect.
At the end of my wits, i finally took drastic measures. I took a smooth metallic implement and boiled it in hot water, sterilizing it and heating if for the “cystacular!” procedure ahead. I lifted my eyelid slightly and inserted the smooth rounded end of the implement under it. The heat stung for a moment but quickly dissipated.
After a bit of groping around, i finally found the cyst, and after several attempts, succesfully dissolved it. Woo hoo! Life is so much better now that i don’t have my pustule (which i named, “Pustulio") anymore. I just hope i don’t go blind now by accidently poking the wrong thing.
Boy, skills like this came in handy while i didn’t have health insurance… (curse those days as a poor artist with no benefits package!)
Gah!
And just out of curiosity, what was the “smooth metallic implement?”
*shiver*

It’s the size of tweezers and has two rounded ends, each with a hole - one small and one big. You smash it up against your nose and nasty stuff squirts out of your pores! It’s like magic!
You can see why i needed to boil it to make sure it was clean…

the cyst you took care of is called a chalazium
caused by a plugged up mebomium gland. these reside under the lid as opposed to a hordeolum which are more pustular, more superficial, and respond to warm packs. you go girl
