Price of 1 Kathy = $9.25

Wednesday, July 20, 2005

I thought that moving uptown might make me more “high end,” but I guess not.

According to the receipt, I’m a pretty good bargain at only $9.25. I would say that’s at least half the normal price! I always figured I would be worth a little more…

What this is actually from is a great restaurant on the Upper West Side. JenRo and I went to dinner on Sunday at Popover Café. It’s really cute! And for some reason, I have a stron affinitely for their cloth napkins. They’re red, orange and pink plaid (which sounds hideous as I describe it) but I think it’s so cute!.  >__<

Anyway, I had no idea what I was in the mood for. UNTIL I saw the “Kathleen Avocado Melt Sandwich.” I had no choice. I HAD to get it. It had my name written all over it! And due, or course, to its impeccable name, the sandwich was DELICIOUS. Ahhh, I’m happy just remembering it.  Mmmmmm. I would have taken a picure of the sandwich, but by the time I remembered, every last crumb was gone. Sorry folk.

When the receipt came out, they had abbreviated its name to “Kathy.” “Why, that’s ME!” I thought to myself. “And boy am I cheap!” hahaha Still, it supports my theory that truly good foods have good names.  ;)

  1. $9.25 for a sandwich?  Being part of the cheapness that is tied in by genes, I think that’s a little pricy.  smile You know, you can get a Subway sandwich and look just like Jared and his creapy commercials for less that $6.  On the other hand, that’s got to be an excellent sandwich.

  2. I love that you reserved the happy thought of, “Why that’s ME!” to yourself instead of immediately sharing it with your ever cool-as-beans roommate...the next time we’re at Popovers, we’ll all have to try the avocado-laden version of “you.”

  5. Mmmmmmmm… American made sandwich--gggrrrraaaaaaaaaa.  So hungry for American food.

Okay seriously… well… relatively seriously… if you convert the dollars to pesos your $10 sandwich comes out to around 23,000 Colombian smackers.  And when you figure in the buying power of the peso the ratio is more like 1000 pesos to the dollar which makes you worth roughly $23!  There, I more than doubled your value!  That will be $10.  (Hey, I’m worth it.)
