Working Kills Blogs

Friday, December 15, 2006

After reviewing my site archive, I realized that…

Ever since January when i moved back, i really haven’t had much to write about. Part of it was that I was at home with my dad for several months, taking care of him (which wasnt exactly a barrel of laughs). But then i started working. And while there was lots going on there, it’s wasn’t stuff that I felt was blog-worthy. I mean, how much can one write about office politics without boring even yourself? And outside of work, i honestly don’t do that much. Sigh.

My life has become boring. Or, more precisely, more boring and with less time to write and be creative so even my small observations and anecdotes don’t make it to the blog.

A friend at work asked me to start writing about trends of my generation. Things like my view on my generation and materialism, the hyper-awareness about environmental issues, the do-gooder mentality, etc. I may just take him up on his offer. I told him to give me topics, and i’ll write. Now i’m extending that offer to YOU!

What do you want me to write about? I won’t make any claims to being academic or researched or that my post will be anything other than my personal opinion, but at least it might be an interesting discussion starter. What do you say? Will you join in a conversation with me?

  1. This came to me yesterday, while sitting in the classroom with 2 phone booths:

Do you ever wonder what happens to Superman’s clothes...after he changes into his tights in some random phone booth?

Or, if you want something serious:  Talk about the good and bad of having President Hillary in 2008.

Or, just write about how you always slip in those iridescent-looking Alfani shoes.  I don’t know…

  2. I think you should take a picture every day and use that as a writing prompt. That kills two birds with one stone - using your awesome camera more often (for fun!) and keeping up with your blogging!

p.s. We got to see your dad at LLJC in November. He’s looking really good!

  3. Hmm.  Movie reviews?

    “Deep Thoughts” by Kathy Khoo?

Maybe like a “Dear Abby” kind of thing?

    "Dear Katty,

How can I best clean out those embarassing pieces of mikan skin from under my fingernails?

    Desperately needing help,
    Orangina"

Something along those lines.  Anyway, whatever you figure out, I’m lookng forward to it.
